Willie Mae German, age 90, a beloved homemaker known for her kind heart and gentle spirit, passed away peacefully at her home on April 6, 2026. She was born on January 25, 1936, in Somerville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Rehobeth Cemetery, 1211 Rehobeth Rd., in Somerville, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
Willie Mae lived a life filled with love and devotion, especially showing compassion through her care for stray cats that she would feed when she would be out for drives to the river and lake. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and tending to her garden, activities that brought her great joy.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Roy German of Whiteville, TN; her daughters: Linda Ann Bobbitt (Andy) of Waynesboro, MO, Rhonda Carol Suroviak of Moscow, TN, Sherry Lee Patterson (Ron) of Bolivar, OH, and Della Renea Kolwyck (Kody) of Moscow, TN; her brother: Charlie Duncan of Somerville, TN and sisters Martha Shubert of Dancyville, TN, Geraldine Thompson (Tommy) of Middleton, TN, Opal Roberts and Celeste Walls both of Memphis, TN. She also leaves a legacy of 19 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Sydney Duncan and Della Jefferson Walk Duncan Shubert; sons Oscar Brinkley Walls and Sydney Randall Walls; daughter Brenda Gail Muntz; and sisters Frances Hendrix and Bell Wells.
Pallbearers for the service will be Eric Walls, Landon Walls, Brandon Staggs, Danny Logan, Hunter Long and Matthew Edmonds.
Willie Mae’s life was one of quiet kindness and dedication to those she loved and the community she cared for. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
