William Harold Hendrix, Sr.

William Harold Hendrix, Sr., a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 20, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on June 5, 1948, in Haywood County, Harold dedicated his life to both his family and his work. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Dr. John Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

A devoted supervisor over manufacturing at Stackpole / Dynametal, Harold exemplified a strong work ethic and leadership throughout his career, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, he found immense joy in his personal passions, including farming, hunting, and working on lawnmowers. Harold’s dedication to hard work was matched only by his love for his family, who were the center of his world.

Harold was a faithful member of Shaw's Chapel Baptist Church, where his strong faith and love for Jesus guided him in all aspects of his life. He was known to approach life with a deep sense of compassion and kindness, embodying the values he held dear.

He is survived by his sons, William Harold Hendrix, Jr. (Michelle), Jeff Cole, both of Brownsville, TN, Gregory Hendrix, of Atlanta, GA and Anthony "Bubba" Cole, of Blue Goose, TN; daughters, Anita Houston (Larry), of Memphis, TN, Marcia Killen (Greg), Kim Cole, both of Brownsville, TN, and Stephanie Henderson, of Arkansas; brother, Thomas Hendrix, of Dancyville, TN; and sister, Nora Hendrix, of Brownsville, TN. He also leaves a legacy of fifteen grandchildren, Chelsie Denevan (Cody), Harley Siler (Anthony), Hayden Hendrix (Hannah), Molly Faulkner (Taylor Hendrix), Mallory Faulkner, Bryce Faulker (Nikki), Abby Cole, Libby Cole, Brooke Nichols, Colbie Moore (Justin), Taylor Morris (Nathan), Ky Henderson, Allie Henderson, Abigail Henderson, Kameron Warren (Zack); as well as nineteen great grandchildren, Ben Morris, Baylor Morris, Berkley Morris, Caloni Faulkner, Cambree Faulkner, Melanie Faulkner, Cayson Warren, Raelynn Warren, Bo Siler, Madi Siler, Kenzie Cross, Cadence Denevan, Caralee Denevan, Haisley Hendrix, Graham Courtright, Brynlee Hickam, Lila Kate Cole, Lakelyn Cole, Kayson Henderson.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Odell and Sephonia Lavinia Hughes Hendrix; his wife, Patricia Diane Hendrix; brothers, Clarence Hendrix, Jr. and Odell Hendrix; grandchild, Joshua Cole and great grandchild, Brooks Morris.

As we celebrate the life of William Harold Hendrix, Sr., we remember him not just for his achievements or hobbies, but for the warmth and love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.  The family has requested that memorials be made to the Shaw's Chapel Baptist Church, c/o Harold Hendrix, Jr., 1179 Sugar Creek Rd., Brownsville, TN  38012. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide all who had the privilege of being part of his life. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
