William Jackson Brummett, Jr.

William Jackson (Jack) Brummett, Jr., age 81, a resident of Brownsville, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Westside Church of Christ in Brownsville, TN with Jeff Horton officiating.  Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Westside Church of Christ in Brownsville, TN. 

Jack was born on September 2, 1942, in Haywood County.   He was the oldest son of the late William Jackson Brummett, Sr. and Frances Musgrave Brummett.  He worked as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He was a devoted member of the church of Christ and faithfully attended and identified with the Westside Church of Christ congregation. He loved bass fishing, loved the church, and enjoyed his work and family. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Joyce Hindman Brummett; one brother, John Wilson Brummett, Sr. and sister-in-law, Linda Thomas Lea Brummett.  

He is survived by his wife, Joan Parks Brummett, his brother, Guy Musgrave Brummett, sister-in-law, Martha Brummett, and his children & grandchildren, Floyd Jackson Brummett, Stephanie Zarecor, Rike Currie, Payne Zarecor, Bettye Kerr, Ben Brummett, Kayla Neal, Drew Neal (Sierra), and four great grandchildren, Karmen, Lilly, Amalie, and Liam. 

He also leaves behind a host of extended family, including his nephews, John (Buddy) Brummett, Jr. and family, and Jamey Brummett, Chris Lea and Jody Lea (Jeanna), his stepson, Dwayne Duncan (Stacey) and family, and Joan’s children and grandchildren, Elizabeth Wright, Tim Campbell (Vickie), Courtney, Austin, Justin (Marianna), and great-grandchild, Julia, and Greg Osteen (Hollie), Brewer, Will and Noah. 

Pallbearers for the service will be Rike Currie, Payne Zarecor, Tim Campbell, Austin Campbell, Nathan Neal and Craig Robinson. 

The family has requested memorials be made to the Westside Church of Christ, 3235 Hwy 54 W., Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
