Travis Gene Stephens, affectionately known to those who loved him as "Travis Gene," passed away on August 26, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, passion, and love that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends. Born on August 2, 1960, in Brownsville, Tennessee, Travis lived a life rich with experiences and cherished moments.

Travis worked his whole life as a carpenter, taking immense pride in his craft. His hands built not only structures but also the foundations of his family's life, embodying a work ethic that inspired those around him. He was not only a skilled tradesman but also an eternal learner, always eager to wheel and deal antiques, sharing stories and memories of each unique find.

A man of many talents, Travis thrived in the great outdoors. He had a profound love for fishing and hunting, where he found peace and fulfillment under the expansive skies that he adored. His garden was a testament to his nurturing spirit; there he found solace and satisfaction in watching life flourish. Travis was also a magnificent cook, able to prepare a wide array of dishes with a skill that brought joy to all who sat at his table.

Family was undeniably the centerpiece of Travis's life. He was an incredibly devoted father to his four daughters: April Watson, Casey Jean Dunaway (Jimmy), Robin Lea Stephens, and Alisha Gail Stephens. His love for them knew no bounds, and they were undoubtedly the proudest accomplishment of his life. He will be remembered for instilling in them values of hard work, kindness, and a sense of adventure that now lives on in their own families.

Travis is survived by his loving daughters, his dear sister, Debra Michie (James), and his two brothers, Hershel Ray Stephens and John Stephens Jr. The joy of his life is reflected in his six grandsons, three granddaughters, five great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter, one niece, and six nephews, of whom carry forward his spirit and warmth. His presence will be missed dearly by numerous friends and a host of extended family members.

Though he has joined his beloved parents, John Harvel Stephens and Betty Jean Lewis Stephens, as well as two brothers, Gary Lee Stephens and John Farron Stephens , his spirit remains alive in the love that he imparted to those around him.

Travis Gene Stephens leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories filled with laughter, love, and a zest for life that will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy serves as a reminder to cherish each moment, love fiercely, and appreciate the beauty in both nature and nurturing relationships. In reflecting upon his life, one cannot help but feel gratitude for the warmth and joy he brought into the world. He will be missed deeply, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he loved.
