Shirley Dickinson, age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Bells Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, in Bells, TN. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Edward and Wilma Carter Sullivan.
Shirley was known for her love of family and friends, a quality that shone brightly throughout her life. She treasured the moments spent with her sons, Clint Dickinson and his wife Donna, of Brownsville, TN, and Christopher Dickinson and his wife Kim, of Hendersonville, TN. As a proud grandmother, she adored her four grandchildren: Paula Dickinson Eubanks and her husband Chris, Frank Dickinson and his wife Debbie, Zach Dickinson and Ellen Edwards. Shirley was also great grandmother, to five great grandchildren: Carter Eubanks, Ellee Eubanks, Emma Dickinson, Conner McCollum, and Crew Scott. Shirley was also preceded in death by her brother, Ed Sullivan.
Beyond her family, Shirley loved to work in her yard. She enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her family and friends. Her adventurous spirit took her traveling, allowing her to experience the world and create lasting memories.
Shirley's legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate within the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her loved ones and friends. The family requests memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. The family has honored her request for cremation and no services are scheduled at this time but will be announced as they become available by the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home.
