Reda Carol McDonald Hurst, age 66, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. All services are under the direction of the Bells Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reda was born in Hohenwald, TN on May 23, 1957, to the late Clifford G. McDonald and Sallie Stephens McDonald. She graduated from Dyersburg High School in 1974. After leaving Dyersburg, she moved to Madison County, TN. She was a dedicated caregiver, often opening her home to those in need. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers: Noah Ronald McDonald, Billy Joe McDonald, Timmy Dale McDonald, Charles Davis McDonald; and two sisters: Janie Elizabeth Kelly and Clara Nell Short.
She is survived by her two sons: Aaron Paul Blalock (Rebecca) of Olive Branch, MS and Darron Brent Blalock (Cindy) of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers: Brownie McDonald of Friendship, TN and Frank Ashley McDonald of Dyersburg, TN; three sisters: Martha Jean Carter and Lucretia Ann Birmingham both of Deming, NM and Dorsie Faye Rook of Trenton, TN; She leaves a legacy of four grandchildren: Brilee Jane, Sienna, Wyatt and Gwendolyn Blalock, numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend: Pam Stafford.
The family are honoring her wishes for cremation and further information will be announced as it becomes available by the Bells Funeral Home.
