Paula Hill, age 63, met her Savior face-to-face on August 31, 2025, after a very short battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
Paula was born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 25, 1962. She attended Elliston Baptist Academy, Memphis Preparatory School, and Memphis State University, where she was a member of Pi Phi.
But the story really began at Willow Oaks Elementary, where she sat behind her much later to be husband, Jeff. She pulled his hair and told him, “I’m going to marry you some day.”
Paula and Jeff were married for 43 years and were blessed by the Lord with a life of love, service, and joy. Paula was the best wife ever, the best mom ever, and the best Yia Yia ever! Her grandchildren were her earthly crown, and she and Jeff loved traveling to games from sunrise to sunset on most weekends. And when not at a ballgame, Paula stewarded well, the role that she and Jeff were called to at Mission Church.
Paula loved, and was loved by, a large circle of family, friends, and colleagues. She always had a smile on her face, and made everyone feel loved with her warm and generous spirit. She drew us all to her, and to our Savior – Jesus!
Paula is survived by her husband Jeff, her son Nathan (Laura), son Jordan (Ashley), and five grandchildren – James, Cooper, Jack, Knox, and Piper. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jane and Jimmy Hight.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at the Mission Church, 6000 Briarcrest Ave., Memphis, TN 38120.
