Oscar "Red" Walls, Jr.

Oscar “Red” Walls, Jr., age 65, a resident of Brownsville, TN, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Harmony Baptist Church in the Hillville Community.  Burial will follow at the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday Evening, April 12, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, and on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church.

Red was born on October 24, 1958, in Somerville, TN to Oscar Brinkley. Walls, Sr. and Willie Mae Duncan German. He worked at the Two-Way Gin in Brownsville, TN as a Cotton Warehouse Manager.  He enjoyed the outdoors and loved working in his yard.  He enjoyed trains and riding his 4-wheeler.  He always loved watching westerns on television. He was blessed with a great family, and he loved spoiling his children and grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Laura Walls of Brownsville, TN; his mother, Willie Mae German (Roy) of Whiteville, TN; two daughters, Shannon Edmonds (Matthew) of Whiteville, TN and Katie Walls (Hunter) of Whiteville, TN; five sisters, Linda Bobbit (Andy), Sherry Patterson (Ron), Brenda Muntz, Rhonda Suroviak, and Renea Kolwyck (Kody); two grandchildren, Charlote Edmonds and Avery Edmonds (on the way). He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Brinkley Walls, Sr. and one brother, Sidney Randle Walls. 

Pallbearers for the service will be Daniel Reeves, Eric Walls, Matthew Edmonds, Hunter Long, Kody Kolwyck, and Richard Vales. 

The family has requested memorials be made to the Kirkland Cancer Center, 720 W. Forest Ave., Jackson, TN 38301.
