Norma Jean Fuqua

Norma Jean Fuqua, age 81, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, departed this life on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at AHC Crestview in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Providence Cemetery in Madison County. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.  

Norma was born on July 28, 1942, to William Dallas Campbell and Noley Byrd Campbell in Haywood County, TN. She retired as a Department Manager with Walmart in Brownsville, TN. She loved life and loved her family. She will long be remembered as one who was happy and joyful.  She enjoyed doing arts and crafts.  She married Quron Fuqua and they were happily married for 57 years.  

She is survived by two sons, Quron Fuqua, Jr. of Brownsville, TN and Ronnie Fuqua (Becky) of Brownsville, TN; one daughter, Rhonda Avent (Larry Cook) of Whiteville, TN and one sister, Billie Jo Stoots of Brownsville, TN.  She leaves a legacy of love for her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Quron Fuqua, Sr.; her parents, Wiliam and Noley Campbell; three brothers, Paul C. Campbell, R.V. Campbell, Bobby Campbell; four sisters, Ernestine Davis, Wilma Bernice Campbell, Opal Tippett, and Winnie D. Medford, and one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Fuqua.  

Pallbearers for the service will be Jeremy Avent, Matthew Jackson, Shane Sullivan, Jake Taylor, William Tippett and Ray Wakefield. 

The family has requested memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
