Mr. Neal Fray Funderburk, 86 passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 3. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 5, in the Brownsville Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Connerley officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday, March 9, at 2:00 PM in the West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery, Germantown, TN with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 PM, Friday, March 5 at the Brownsville Baptist Church. He served during World War II in the Army Air Force as a cryptographer, a member of the Squadron 503rd Air Service Group and a Purple Heart recipient. He also had a love for fishing and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents Noah A. Funderburk and Annis Overton Funderburk; a son: Jerry Funderburk and a brother: Buddy Funderburk. Survivors include his wife: Louise Funderburk, Brownsville, TN, one son: Rick Funderburk (Lori), Singapore, one daughter: Shelia North (John), Brownsville, TN, one sister: Inez Peters, Anniston, AL; nine grandchildren: Heath Johnson, Breat Johnson, Andrew North, Susan North, Jekka Funderburk, Ross Funderburk, Jerrad Funderburk, Audra Bailey & Chelsea Funderburk; seven great-grandchildren: Bradley Poole, Nicholas & Jessica Johnson, Jordan, Tyshawn, David & Imani Bailey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Baptist Global Response, 402 BNA Drive, Suite 411, Nashville, TN 37217
