Milton Sills

Milton Sills, age 86, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the AHC Crestview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Brownsville TN. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Grover Westover officiating. The burial will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens.

Milton Sills was born on January 3, 1938, in Brownsville, TN to William Sills and Mary Byrd Sills. He worked as a road supervisor for the Haywood County Highway Department. He will long be remembered as a hard worker and one who loved working in his shop. He enjoyed life and love to cut up with others. He was married for 64 wonderful years to Linda Sills. He enjoyed working with young people and coached many kids throughout the years. He loved his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren very much and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sills of Brownsville, TN; his son, Mike Sills (Julie) of North Carolina, Doug Sills of Somerville, TN, and Jerry Sills (Debra) of Sugar Tree, TN; his grandchildren, Emily, Hunter, Ethan, Gracie, and Drake, as well as several great-grandchildren and extended family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sills and Mary Byrd Sills; his brother, Billy Ray Sills; his sister, Bertha Stanley, and his daughter-in-law, Trish Sills. 

The family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908, or to the Mid-South Food Bank, 3865 S. Perkins, Memphis, TN 38118.
