Melissa Shamburger Horton

Melissa Shamburger Horton, age 43, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, in Shelby County. Melissa was born on April 9, 1979, in Tyler, TX to her parents, Jack and Lynette Shamburger. She grew up in Brownsville, TN and graduated from Haywood High School. She was a resident of Somerville, TN where she was a homemaker. She loved her children, her family and her dog, Scarlett.

Melissa is survived by her father, Jack Shamburger of Brownsville, TN; three daughters, Carolina Horton, Lauren Horton, and Ellery Horton, all of Bartlett, TN; one brother, Justin Shamburger of Brownsville, TN, and one paternal grandmother, Pat Shamburger of Flower Mound, TX.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Lynette Cummins Shamburger, and her maternal grandparents, Weldon and Joy Cummins. 

The family has requested memorials be made to the Brownsville Humane Society, c/o Alice Nunn, P.O. Box 565, Brownsville, TN 38012.

 

There will be a Private Memorial Service for the family.
