Melinda "Mendy" Norville, a beloved member of her community and dedicated manager of the Brownsville Country Club for several years, passed away peacefully at her home in Covington, TN, on March 5, 2026. Born on August 28, 1969, Melinda was known for her kind and caring personality, which endeared her to many.
Throughout her life, Melinda touched the hearts of those around her. She fostered a spirit of warmth and compassion that made her a cherished figure among family and friends alike. Her commitment to her career at the Brownsville Country Club showcased her leadership and passion for creating memorable experiences for others.
Melinda leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her Bonus Dad, Max Laman; her nephew, Mitch Norville; her Bonus Sons and Daughters, Joseph and Monica Plunk, as well as Jeremy Fields and Jennifer Fields Anderson. Additionally, her Bonus Sister, Melanie Plunk Everett, and her Special Cousin, Gia Overton, will carry her memory forward. Melinda was also a devoted grandmother to her Bonus Grandchildren: Grayson, Payson, Addie Plunk, Issac Fields, Haley Fields, Yazmen Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Jayden, Carter, and Bryson Fields.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas Norville, Sr. and Mary Edith Plunk Norville; her grandparents, Adrian and Edith Plunk, and Thomas and Dorothy Norville; her uncles, Tim Plunk and David Plunk; her Bonus Son, Brandon Plunk; her brothers, James (Jimmy) Thomas Norville, Jr. and Paul Thomas Norville; her Special Aunt, Melissa (Missy) Plunk Osborne; and her cherished friend, Jeff Fields, who she affectionately referred to as her God Sent Angel.
In the lives she touched and the memories she created, Melinda Norville leaves a lasting legacy of kindness, love, and friendship that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
