Mary Frances Haynes Trottman, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at her daughter Jan's home, in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hutcherson officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at the Brownsville Funeral Home.
Born on March 16, 1932, in Brownsville, TN, she graduated from Haywood High School where she was a cheerleader for 4 years. She represented Miss Brownsville at the West TN Strawberry Festival where she was crowned Miss Congeniality. In her teen years, she sang in the Youth Choir at the First Methodist Church in Brownsville. She cherished teaching Children's Sunday School in Zion Church's basement for 39 years. When asked "Why did you stop?" She said, "I ran out of kids." She sang in the church adult choir, as long as they had a choir.
She was President of the Women Society of Christian Service. She worked on the square for Sears and Brasfield Jewelry for over 50 years. She loved interacting with the public and meeting with people. She was honored with the Good Citizen Neighbor award at the annual ceremony held on the square.
She married the love of her life, Howell (Hal) Trottman on January 1, 1954. They were married for 52 years. Both were devoted Memphis Tiger fans for over 50 years. She always wore her Tiger Blue. They also enjoyed going to the beach and their TN River home.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Kenneth and Evelyn Haynes, and her husband, Hal Trottman.
She is survived by her daughters, Jan Cleek (Ed) of Brownsville, TN and Margo Juengling (Brian) of Germantown, TN.
Grandchildren: Allen Brown, BJ Brown (Marti) of Brownsville, TN; Ashley Rotenberry (Jon) of Germantown, TN; and Stephanie Stoots (Marshall) of Jackson, TN
Three step-grandchildren: Cindy, Bubba and Ray
Great Grandchildren: Derrick, Kellen, and Jalee Brown; Aubrey and Abigail Rotenberry; and Hayden and Haynes Stoots.
She also leaves behind the following, her “faithful friend” Elizabeth Carlton, “like my sister” Lana Lewis, “special card sender” Angelia Kirkpatrick, and “godchild” Jennifer Fry (Jack).
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Dr. Tauer and the West Clinic staff, the Pruitthealth Hospice team, and Shirley Currie for their love and kindness.
Pallbearers for the service will be Allen Brown, B.J. (Bradley Joe) Brown, Greg Carlton, Lane Lewis, Jonathan Rotenberry and Marshall Stoots.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Kenneth Haynes, Tom Hughes and Wilburn West, Jr.
