Margaret Jean Kaiser

Margaret Jean Kaiser, age 81, passed away peacefully, on April 22, 2025, at the Haywood Post Acute, formerly known as Crestview Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Rev. John Banks officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

Margaret was born on March 28, 1944, to Thomas Emmitt and Maude Waddell Pruitt in Cullman, AL. Margaret lived vibrantly and embraced lifelong learning. She earned her bachelor's degree from New Hampshire College, was a dedicated CPA licensed in three states.

Margaret faced life with strength, integrity, and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. She adored purple irises, gardening, photography, and dancing. She loved music-especially James Taylor, Elvis Presley, and Tom Jones-and encouraged musical passion in her sons.

Margaret cherished the ocean, the Smoky Mountains, and hosting family gatherings, particularly Thanksgiving dinners and baking memorable birthday cakes for her family.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Kaiser (Bonnie) of Brownsville, TN, Mark Kaiser, of St. Louis, MO; one brother, James Pruitt of Victoria, MS; three grandchildren, James Gibb, Henry Kaiser, Claire Kaiser; two great grandchildren, Chelsey Garris, Nicholas Gibb and two great great grandchildren, Addie Grace Garris and Gentry Ferrara. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Maude Pruitt; three brothers, Carl Pruitt, Thurmon Pruitt, Billy Pruitt; two sisters, Gracie Travis, Louise Adkins; and one grandchild, Michael Gibb.

Her warmth, resilience, and endless curiosity will be deeply missed. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
