Luther Allen Briggs, Jr.

Luther Allen Briggs, Jr, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN.  All services are under the direction of the Bells Funeral Home.

Mr. Briggs was born in Columbia, TN on September 29, 1931 to the late Luther A. Briggs, Sr. and Era Bunch Calvert Briggs.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and owned his own construction business.  He was also preceded in death by three brothers:  Wesley Briggs, Douglas Briggs, Charles Briggs; three sisters:  Virginia Sowell, Dorothy Delong and Jackie Cooper.

He is survived by two sons:  Allen Briggs of Paris, TN, Dale Ray Briggs of Jackson, TN; two daughters:  Ellen Louise Hamlin of Martinis, CA, Sharon Ann Anweiler of Knoxville, TN;  three brothers:  Frankie Briggs, Ray Briggs, Carl Thomas Briggs;  one sisters:  Nancy Sue Christy.  He leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

The Briggs Family are honoring his wishes for cremation.  Further information will be announced as it becomes available by the Bells Funeral Home.
