Linda Laverne Morris

Linda Laverne Morris, born on December 10, 1941, in Conway, AR, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at the Bolivar Health & Rehabilitation at the age of 84. She lived a life marked by kindness and dedication, and she will be remembered fondly by those who knew her. The family will hold a memorial service to honor Linda’s life on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 4925 Newsom Rd, Whiteville, TN, officiated by Bro. Gary Frye.  Friends and family are invited to attend and remember a woman who touched their lives with quiet strength and gentle grace.

Linda served as a secretary at Bass Insurance for many years, where her dedication and warm presence were appreciated by all who worked with her. She cherished her time spent at church and found great joy in her faith. Linda also loved quilting and canning produce from her garden, activities that brought her pleasure throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving family: her son, Jerry Morris, II, and his wife Kim of Finger, TN; her daughter, Karen German, and her husband David of Whiteville, TN; her grandchildren, Savannah Patterson and her husband Michael, Christina Young and her husband RJ, David A. Morris, Carisa Nathans and her husband Eric, Tanner McGee and his wife Abi, Bo McGee, and Stassi Morris and great-grandchildren Rose Clayborne, Rhett German, and Michaela Patterson.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey and Jessie Leona Brown Payne, her sisters Flodine Baker, Faye Allen, and Carolyn Parker, and her grandchild Chelsey Morris.

She will be dearly missed, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.  The family requests memorials be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4925 Newsom Rd., Whiteville, TN 38075 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.  All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
