Joyce was born on November 9, 1955, in Covington, TN, to Calvin George, Sr. and Mary Manley Combs.  She worked as a homemaker.  Joyce was a very caring and giving person. She gave with her heart, and it was always full of compassion. Her best way to show she cared for you would be to cook for you. If you were ever blessed to have one of her meals, you understand fully that it was prepared with love. She was a wonderful cook. She used that skill to help with charities and fundraisers for friends and family through the years.

She has had many hobbies throughout her lifetime that include playing the piano, singing, (especially gospel & country), reading, baking (mostly because Phil has a sweet tooth), and she absolutely loved her garden. She worked hard and enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor with others. She kept her garden perfectly, and she was able to grow some very fruitful harvests. She has numerous family and friends, and they all mean the world to her, as well as she means the same to them.

Joyce is survived by her spouse of 32 years, Philip Dale Adams of Whiteville, TN;   her daughter, Kristie Warren (Beau) of Whiteville, TN; her son, Kevin Smith (Alicia) of Stanton, TN; five grandsons, David Warren and Alan Warren of Whiteville, TN, Jackson Alford, Jacob Eubanks and Ashton Smith, all of Stanton, TN; one granddaughter, Brittany Warren and two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Allie Staggs all of Whiteville, TN; one brother, Calvin George, Jr. of Brownsville, TN, and her bonus siblings, Sharon Laney, Renee Laney, and Sylvester Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin George, Sr. of Memphis, TN; her mother, Mary Ellen Combs of Brownsville, TN; one brother, Howard Combs of Brownsville, TN, and two bonus parents, Elet Smith and Dorothy Smith (Momma Dot) of Brighton, TN.
