Jesse Kirkland

Jesse Kirkland, beloved husband, son, father, brother, son-in-law, grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend, departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Somerville, TN.  He was 49 years old at the time of death. 

Jesse was born on December 31, 1974, in Brownsville, TN to Jimmy Kirkland and Barbara Freels Kirkland. He was a resident of Somerville, TN.  He loved life and lived each day loving his family, enjoying Alabama Football, racing four wheelers, listening to music, riding horses, and taking in the beauty of the outdoors. He had a special place in his heart for his three dogs.  

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jean Kirkland of Somerville, TN; his mother, Barbara Kirkland of Somerville, TN; Anthony Hendrix, Rick Galindo and Aubrey Galindo, who he raised as his own sons; one goddaughter, Cheyanne Durbin from MS; one brother, James Kirkland of Brownsville, TN; mother-in-law, Teresa Pendergrast; father-in-law, Johnny Pendergrast; uncle, Charles Hughes; niece, Taylor Brewer; nephew, Cameron Joran, and one grandchild, Braxton Durbin. 

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Danny Austin and Mark Freels officiating. 

The family has requested memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
