Jack McCuan, a beloved figure in the Brownsville community, passed away on January 27, 2026, at Cypress Grove in Jackson, TN. Born on June 10, 1948, in Huntersville, TN, Jack lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and warmth. A memorial gathering to honor Jack's life will be held on February 12, 2026, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, starting at 5:00 P.M., and concluding at 7:00 P.M.

For over thirty years, Jack worked as a butcher at Tripp's Country Hams in Brownsville, where he became well-known for his commitment to quality and service. His exemplary work ethic and friendly demeanor endeared him to both colleagues and customers alike.

Beyond his career, Jack was a man of many interests and talents. He was well-regarded for his speed and talent in sports during his youth, especially in softball, where he earned the nickname "Fast Jack." His athletic prowess was further recognized as he holds honored records in track, remembered fondly at the Haywood High School Museum. Jack's love for adventure was also expressed through his enthusiasm for attending car shows and riding motorcycles.

Jack is survived by his sons, Tim McCuan (Kristi) of Jackson, TN, and Gary Wayne McCuan. He is also cherished by his sisters, Lawanda McCuan Conder and Diane McCuan West, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy.

He was predeceased by his parents, Billy B. and Willie Mai Drake McCuan; his son, Keith McCuan; and his brothers, Billy Joe McCuan, Jimmy McCuan, Larry McCuan, and Mack McCuan. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Helen McCuan Hendrix.

Jack McCuan will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and contributions to his community but also for the love and joy he brought to the lives of those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.  

The family requests that memorials be made to LeBonheur Children's Hospital, 50 N. Dunlap St., Memphis, TN 38103.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
