Gwendolyn Mae Cobb

Gwendolyn Mae Cobb, age 78, of Mercer, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2 PM at the New Salem Cemetery in Bethel Springs, TN.

Gwendolyn was born in Memphis, TN on September 16, 1944, to Porter Washington Faulkner and Lietia Syble Harris. She was a homemaker. She was loved by many and never met a stranger. Ms. Cobb adored her family and leaves a legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Robert Gage (Christine); daughter, Alice Hall (Jeff); five brothers, Jeff Faulkner, Calvin Faulkner, Buck Faulkner, Melvin Faulkner, and Harry Faulkner; ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter Washington Faulkner and Lietia Syble Harris; first husband, Robert Lee Gage, Sr.; second husband, James Wesley Cobb; one son, James Robert Gage; two daughters, Rita Joyce Goodman and Gwendolyn Britton; and one sister, Fay Faulkner.

The family has chosen cremation for Ms. Cobb. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
