Glenda Scallion, age 73, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the Bells Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bells, TN. Born on March 9, 1952, in Alamo, TN, Glenda lived a life filled with love and laughter. The family has honored her wishes for cremation and there are no services scheduled at this time but will be announced as they become available by the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

Glenda's career in the restaurant industry as a server reflected her warm personality and her willingness to serve others. Her pleasant personality and commitment to her work left a lasting impression on both customers and co-workers alike.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Glenda found great joy in gardening, camping, and traveling. Being outdoors brought her great joy.

Glenda is survived by her sons, Jeremy Scallion of Jackson, TN, and Justin Scallion of Gadsden, TN, as well as her daughter, Jan Taylor of Millersport, OH. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Andrew Mathis. Her legacy extends to her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Tristan Scallion, Elena Dina, Shelby St. John Kearse, Brooklyn Ibanez, Brilee Laughlin, and Breann Laughlin. Additionally, she cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Teo Ibanez and Hollis Rae Anderson. Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, William Andrew and Lorene Burns Mathis, her brother, William Larry Mathis, and her sister, Brenda Kay Edwards.

As we remember Glenda Scallion, we celebrate a life filled with compassion, adventure, and love. She will forever be missed by her family and those that had the pleasure of knowing her.  All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
