Gildardo Calderon, age 79, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 12:00 Noon at St. John’s Catholic Church in Brownsville, TN. Burial will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation before the Mass will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Gildardo Calderon was born on (May 9,1942 -September 27, 2021) in La Pila, Guanajuato, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his Parents Cirilo Calderon and Castula Hurtado. He came to the United States at the age of 18 in search of a better future for his family. He relocated all his family from Guanajuato, Mexico to Brownsville, TN in 1998. Gildardo was a very hard-working man working odd jobs to provide for his parents, wife, and children. He lived in many states including California, Michigan, Texas, Oregon, Florida, and Illinois before making Tennessee his home state. He was born and raised a Catholic and never missed a Sunday mass. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church since 1998. He was truly full of joy and enjoyed listening to music and singing, even in the shower. His sense of humor kept everyone laughing. He was a kind soul that always gave generously to those in need. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria Calderon of Brownsville, TN; four sons, Hector Calderon (Guadalope), Santiago Calderon (Isabel), Gildardo Calderon, and Baldemar Calderon (Alejandra); seven daughters, Luciana Flores (Bomingo), Guillermina Lopez (Agustin), Martha Calderon, Carmen Calderon, Rocio Reyes (Virgilio), Juana Calderon, and Fabiola Escobar (Juan). 22 grandchildren, Eva Lopez, Rita Lopez, Augustin Lopez, Gabino Flores, Domingo Flores, Jocelyn Flores, Brissa Calderon, Alexa Calderon, Yaeli Calderon, Leonardo Calderon, Lizandro Calderon, Andrea Reyes, Isabella Reyes, Mateo Reyes, Daniel Reyes, Paulina Calderon, Victoria Calderon, Santiago Calderon, Valeria Calderon, Osvaldo Calderon, Camila Escobar and a Bonus granddaughter — San Juanita Reyna, and 3 great -grandchildren: Ethan Hernandez, Iker Lopez, Julieta Lopez. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
