Evelyn Louise Stewart, age 67, was born on September 29, 1958, in Des Arc, AR. She passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, in Brownsville, TN. Evelyn lived a life marked by dedication and love, touching many through her work and family. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home, with Bro. Gary Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
For 28 years, Evelyn served her community as a dedicated rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Her commitment to her career was steadfast and reliable, reflecting a strong work ethic and a caring spirit. Evelyn found great joy in being with her children and family, she cherished the moments they spent together. She was especially fond of hummingbirds, a small pleasure that brought happiness into her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Christy Cone (Shane) of Brownsville, TN, and Camille Beaver (Lemuel) of Brighton, TN. She also leaves behind her sons: Shane Stewart (Ashley) of Alamo, TN; Carl Stewart, Jr. and Clayton Stewart, both of Stanton, TN. Evelyn’s brothers who survive her include Steve Norman (Louise) of Woodlawn, AR, and Ernest Norman (Elizabeth) of Crossroads, AR; and her sister, Eva Lipe of Cabot, AR.
Evelyn is also survived by two grandchildren, Trevor Cone (Kelsey) and Jordan Sceals (Alex), and nine step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Porter Cone and Bowen Sceals, and fifteen step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alexander Stewart; her parents, James and Dorothy Jones Norman; her brothers, Jimmy Norman, Troy Norman, David Norman; and her sister Judy Harmon.
Pallbearers for the service are Shane Stewart, Shane Cone, Trevor Cone, Alex Sceals, Cody Denevan and Kelly Kendrick. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Rogers and Sam Rogers.
Evelyn Louise Stewart’s life was one of steadfast dedication to her work and deep love for her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion, and the simple joys she treasured. The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
