Evelyn Miller Coburn

Evelyn Coburn, age 90, went to her heavenly home, on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Haywood County Community Hospital in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

 Evelyn was born on May 24, 1934, to Joe Miller and Myra Phyllips in Brownsville, TN. Evelyn loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Poplar Corner Baptist Church. She loved her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished the times that she spent with them.

She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Arnold (Dan) of Jackson, TN and Debbie Coburn of Brownsville, TN; two granddaughters, Tiffany Hart and Rachel Carpenter and a legacy of six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Coburn, and her parents Joe Miller and Myra Phyllips. 

Pallbearers for the service will be John Oscar Hart, Ken Coburn, Mike Coburn, Caleb Kennedy and Micah Kennedy.

The family has requested that memorials be made to the Brownsville Haywood County Animal Shelter, c/o Sherry Batchelor, P.O. Box 499, Brownsville, TN 38012 or to the Poplar Corner Baptist Church, 1010 Boyd Ave., Brownsville, TN  38012.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
