Edward Morris Kelley, Jr.

Morris Kelley, Jr., age 72, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 1:30 PM, at the Morris Kelley Family Cemetery in Stanton, TN with Bro. David Reeves officiating, with burial to follow. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

Morris was born on June 2, 1954, to Pauline Austin Kelley and Edward Morris Kelley, Sr. in Laconia, TN. He was a construction worker for Standard Construction for many years. Following his retirement, Morris found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren and tending to his cows.

He is survived by his wife: Theresa “Tess” Repik Kelley of Whiteville, TN; sons: Pete Kelley (Kara) of Stanton, TN and Hank Kelley (Nickie) of Bolivar, TN; brother: Thomas “Dooley” Kelley (Diane); sisters: Dorothy Howard, Bessie Elrod (Donnie), Marylin Bruce, Mary Howard (David), Gloria Pittman and Marty Metzger (Thomas); grandchildren: Morrison Kelley, Devin Coleman, Henry Kelley, Parker Kelley, Camden Kelley and Brynnan “LuLu” Kelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Pauline Austin Kelley and Edward Morris Kelley, Sr.; and three sisters: Lucille Elrod, Mattie Jo Kellum and Rita Phillips.

Pallbearers for the service will be Billy Austin, David Austin, Thomas Morris Kelley, Lee Bruce, Wayne Motley, Cody Stanifer, Dooley Kelley and Terry Elrod.

Morris will be missed and lovingly remembered by his friends and family. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
