Earbie Ray Williams, age 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ May 26, 2026. Ray was a man whose life was not measured in accomplishments, but in relationships: his love for God and family, the grandchildren he raised, being able to help someone in their time of need or just the happiness he shared just by entering in a room.

Born September 15, 1946, in Bells City, MO to James Earbie Williams and Letha Alene (Reese) Williams, one of eight children, as a young child, he moved to Crockett Mills, TN and spent his school years there and in the surrounding Crockett County area. Joining the U.S. Army in 1969 to serve his country driving a Fuel Truck during the Vietnam War. He later made his career with the Haywood County Board of Education as a Maintenance Worker, retiring with 34 years of service.

Earbie Ray Williams and Debra Kay (Elrod) Williams married and made their home in Brownsville having a house full of love. He and Debra loved to camp and take short trips to many different places. There was always a funny story behind each trip. Ray was a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Community Church. He enjoyed his church and the fellowship of friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of many years: Debra Kay Williams; his parents: James Earbie Williams and Letha Alene (Reese) Williams; two brothers: James Edward Williams and Robert Williams; two sisters: Bonnie Cruise and Reba Ward; two granddaughters: Makayla Burns Williams and Felicia Patterson.

To cherish his memory are four sons: Earbie W. Williams, Cameron Williams, Trevor Williams and Scotty Williams; seven daughters: Joy Veronnica Evans, Vonda Williams, Chasity Williams, Ray Anna Williams, Harley Thomason, Gabrielle Williams and Tonya Williams; three brothers: Bobby Williams, Ricky Williams and Martin Williams; eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Community Church Cemetery Fund, Danny Watson, 1234 Hillville Loop, Whiteville, TN 38075 or to the Donor’s Choice.

Pleasant Community Church Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Brownsville Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
