A talented carpenter for more than 40 years, Donny brought dedication and intelligence to his work. He was determined and smart, qualities that served him well throughout his life and earned the respect of those who knew him. He enjoyed life fully and carried himself with a youthful spark that made him, in the eyes of those who loved him, the oldest teenager in the county. He was humorous yet private, spirited yet deeply loving, a man whose personality left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.
Above all else, Donny loved his family and grandchildren very much. His proudest accomplishments were his family and grandkids, who stood at the center of his heart and his life. That love will remain one of his most enduring legacies.
He is survived by his three sons, Donny Davis II and his wife Tracy, William Westin Davis, and Daniel Eastin Nelson . He also leaves behind his three grandchildren, Shia Davis, Noah Davis, and Kate Davis, each of whom held a special place in his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Colonel Jim E. Davis and his wife Gina, Bobby Davis and his wife Niecy, and Wilton Davis and his wife Kay. In addition, he leaves his special friend, Kim Davis, along with many who will remember his wit, his strength, and the affection he gave in his own steady way.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilton Davis, and his mother, Jackie Miller Davis.
