David E. Clement, age 80, died peacefully at his home, on Friday, March 21, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Vancouver, Washington, he was preceded in death by his parents: Harrell Clement and Ruby Carroll Clement; stepmother: Irlene Davis Clement; and brother: Edward “Eddie” Clement.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Elaine Permenter Clement; children: Aldon Clement (Brooke), Allie Thomas (Mike), Chelsea Matamoros (Yakko), Sharon Smith (Tim) and David Clement, Jr.; one sister: Eula Clement Douglass (Jim); and one brother: Mike Clement (Elaine). He leaves a legacy of grandchildren whom he loved and adored.
Mr. Clement was a graduate of Haywood High School and Jackson State Community College. He served in the United States Air Force, and printing sales and service was his lifetime career. He served a lifetime of devotion to God and his family, was an avid runner, found great delight in nature and travel, and possessed a passion for writing and poetry.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the Bells First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bells First United Methodist Church, N.O.A.H, Imagination Library, or to the charity of the Donor’s Choice.
