Danny Harvey

Danny Harvey, age 72, passed away on September 23, 2026, at Haywood County Community Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1954, in Sterling, Illinois. The family has honored his wishes for cremation. There will be a Memorial Service held to remember Danny on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1902 Campbell St., Jackson, TN with Pastor Tim Osborn officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Before retiring, Danny worked as a lineman at Southwest Tennessee EMC. He was known as a solid rock and a firm foundation for his family, someone they could depend on for anything. He loved his friends and family, took great pride in his grandchildren, and was remembered for his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother, Joann Sanders Harvey of Brownsville, TN.; his daughters, Abby Delashmit and her husband Cory of Sugar Tree, TN, Emily Lober and her husband Don of Saint Charles, MO, and Alyce Harvey of Jackson, TN; and his son, Thomas Harvey of Brownsville, TN. He is also survived by his brother, Lt. Col. Dennis L. Harvey, Ret., of Mt. Juliet, TN; his sister, Julie Warren and her husband Carl Moody of Brownsville, TN; and his sister-in-law, Peggy Harvey of Brownsville, TN.

Danny also leaves behind his grandchildren, Drake Hooper and his wife Grace, Stafford Hooper and his wife Alana, Mary-Elizabeth Hooper, Wyatt Delashmit, Miller Chantharasy, Jude Chantharasy, Henry Lober, and Audrey Lober. They were a great source of pride and joy in his life, and his love for them was clear to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Forrest Harvey, and by his brothers, Doug Harvey and Dale Harvey.

Danny will be remembered with love for his strength, his loyalty to those he cared about, and the laughter he brought with his sense of humor. His memory will remain close to the hearts of his family and friends.  The family has requested memorials be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1902 Campbell St., Jackson, TN 38305.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
