Connie Campbell Slayton

Connie Slayton, age 49, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Friday, February 26, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Christ Church of Brownsville with Bro. Eddie Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Christ Church before the service. She was born in Brownsville, TN on November 21, 1971. Connie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and serving in her church. She was very giving and very active in the Women’s Ministry and helping in the kitchen of the church. She was employed by Ward’s Cleaners and several others cleaners over a span of fifteen years. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. On her list of favorite things to do were shopping, going to flea markets and keeping a very clean house. Connie is survived by her husband of almost 28 years, David Slayton of Brownsville, TN; two daughters, Christine Parker (Cody) of Frog Jump, TN, Brittany King (Mike) of Brownsville, TN; her parents, Roy and Brenda Climer Campbell; a sister, Loretta Campbell; three grandchildren, Octavia Parker, Titan Parker, Jase Gaters and one nephew, Andrew Ray, all of Brownsville, TN. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Acuff Campbell, Jr. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Campbell, Danny Campbell, Mike King, Cody Parker, Carl Naylor and Charlie Elrod. Honorary Pallbearers are the Men of Christ Church. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Lea & Simmons Funeral Home, 1280 South Dupree Ave., Brownsville, TN, 38012 toward funeral expenses.
