Cherie Baggett, age 54, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Greg McFadden officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
Cherie was born on April 25, 1972 to Bill Hughes and Carolyn Barnes Frayser in Brownsville, TN. After the passing of her father, Cherie was raised by her step father, Frank Frayser. After high school Cherie attended West Tennessee Business College. Before becoming unable to work, she was a medical billing clerk at the Whiteville Prison and a Department Manager at Wal-Mart in South Jackson. Cherie enjoyed the simple things in life and one of her favorite things to do was play Bingo, especially with her special Bingo friend, Angeline Hudson. She enjoyed going to church and spending time worshiping with her church family. But her greatest joy came from spending time with and loving her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: Kevin Baggett of Humboldt, TN; her mother and step- father: Carolyn Frayser (Frank) of Brownsville, TN; sons: Cody Baggett of Brownsville, TN and Bret Baggett (Anna) of Humboldt, TN; brother Tony Tidwell (Elke) of Colorado Springs, CO; step-brother: Eddie Frayser; sister: Audrey Lovett (Clay) of Covington, TN; step-sister: Patricia Barker (Jeff); three grandchildren: Bentley Baggett, Mary Ellen Baggett, and Joann Baggett. Cherie was preceded in death by her father: Bill Hughes and her grandchild: Hazel Baggett.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jason Baggett, Cody Baggett, Bret Baggett, Kevin Baggett, Tony Tidwell and Clay Lovett.
Cherie will be missed greatly by her family and friends. The family requests memorials be made to The Church at Sugar Creek, 3400 E. Mitchell St., Humboldt, TN 38343. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
