It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Boyce Birdno, age 83, a dedicated husband, father, and friend, who entered eternal rest on July 21, 2025, in Ripley, TN. He was born on January 18, 1942, in Lepanto, AR, to Charlie Birdno and Vernie Johnson Lowrey, who preceded him in death.
Charles was a proud truck driver by profession, known for his reliability and dedication to his work. He was not only a skilled driver but was also admired for his handiwork and ability to fix just about anything. Beyond his work, he found joy in simple pleasures—fishing, gardening, going to garage sales, and collecting cast iron skillets became cherished hobbies that reflected his love for life and the outdoors. A passionate fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and NASCAR, Charles enjoyed sharing these interests with those around him.
A devoted member of the Spirit Filled Baptist Church, Charles took great pleasure in attending services and spending time with his church family. His faith was an integral part of his life, providing strength and community throughout the years.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Mary Bailey Birdno. He leaves behind four sons: David Birdno (Cheryl) of Kingston Springs, TN; Donnie Birdno of Jonesboro, AR; Andy Keck (Jamie) of Forsyth, GA; and Ronnie Keck (Vicki) of Midland, TX. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Betty Hays of Batesville, AR, and his nephew, Jackie Birdno (Judy) of Black Rock, AR. Charles was also a proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry on his legacy of love and kindness.
Charles Boyce Birdno will be remembered for his warm spirit, unwavering faith, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. His family has honored his wishes for cremation and there are no services scheduled at this time but will be announced as they become available by the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. The family has requested that memorials be made to the West Cancer Center & Research Institute, 240 Grandview Dr., Brighton, TN 38011 in honor of the nurses in the Infusion Room.
