It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cayla Jo Mills Harris, who left this world peacefully at home in Ripley, TN, surrounded by the warmth and love of her cherished family, on April 4, 2026. Born on October 9, 1987, in New Albany, MS, Cayla was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her.

Cayla was the beloved daughter of Jerry and Sandra Mills, who raised her with unconditional love and support. From a young age, Cayla exuded a natural kindness and warmth that endeared her to everyone she met. She possessed an innate ability to make those around her smile and laugh; a testament to her generous spirit and infectious joy.

Cayla's life was blessed with the love and companionship of her devoted husband, Bryan Harris. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their son, Elijah (Eli) Colton Harris, was the apple of Cayla's eye, and her love for him knew no bounds. Cayla found immense joy in family gatherings, where her laughter would echo through the room, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

She was a sister to Amanda Umberger, Susan Walters, and Heather Geyer, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her sisters were not only her family, but also her best friends, and their shared moments of laughter and love will forever be etched in their hearts. She was an aunt to Charity Smith, Faith Smith, MollyAnnah Walthers, Avery Grace Walthers, Ashe Yates, Hardin Geyer, and Justin Geyer. She loved every one of them dearly.

Cayla's passions were as vibrant as her personality. She possessed a deep love for reading and listening to audiobooks, finding solace and adventure within the pages of countless stories. In the kitchen, Cayla was a maestro, creating delicious meals with love, often shared with family and friends who gathered around her table, grateful for the warmth and nourishment she provided.

To know Cayla was to love her. Her kindness, compassion, and ability to make everyone around her feel special will be her enduring legacy. She had a remarkable gift for connecting with people, and her genuine love for others was evident in her every word and action.

The family of Cayla Jo Mills Harris would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered prayers, love, and support throughout her illness. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort and strength during these difficult times. The family also wants to thank Brooks and Jana Harris, her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, who did so much for her; She loved and appreciated them dearly.

As we bid farewell to Cayla, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the laughter of her loved ones, the stories she cherished, and the love she shared so freely. May we all strive to honor her memory by spreading the same love and joy that she brought into this world.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Cayla's life, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her legacy and remember the wonderful person she was. She will have a celebration of life at Turner’s Chapel Baptist Church, 17820 Hwy. 4, Dumas, MS 38625 on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM with Dr. Thomas Rowell officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
