Carolyn Russell White

Carolyn Russell White, age 83, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at her home in Jackson, TN. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Shay Lovelace officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Carolyn was born on January 5, 1943, to Marvin Otis and Hauttie Lee Odell Russell in Brownsville, TN. Throughout her life she was an adventurous person, always eager to travel, whether it be personal travels or with the Campers on Mission Ministry. She loved to cook and entertain friends. Carolyn enjoyed helping people, she worked with the girl scouts and helped with vacation bible school in church, she also had a special calling for dealing with senior adults as well. Being a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, TN gave her the opportunity to serve others. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren brought her so much joy.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert White of Jackson, TN; son, Mike White of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Amy Sweatt (Eric) of Greenville, SC; and three grandchildren, Hayden B. Sweatt, Peyton R. Sweatt and Bailey C. Sweatt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Otis and Hauttie Lee Odell Russell; brother, Marvin E. Russell; and sisters, Barbara Russell, Betty L. Russell, and Marilyn J. Russell.

Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by those that had the honor and pleasure of knowing her. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
