A Memorial Gathering to honor and remember Brenda Kay Mainord will take place at Lea & Simmons Funeral Home, located at 1280 S Dupree Ave, Brownsville, TN 38012, on June 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life, share stories, and remember the remarkable woman she was.

Throughout her life, Brenda loved strongly, spoke freely and was dedicated to those she loved. She was a champion for those in need, always there to help those in times of desperation among her family, friends and in her work as an ER clerk. While she enjoyed gardening and decorating her home, her greatest joy was found in traveling, especially to the mountains.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Ted Mainord, her daughters, Rena Crabb (Danny) and Dina Plaxico (Bobby) and her son, Terry Mainord (Ronda). Brenda is also survived by her brother, Dwight Leek. She also leaves her nieces, Misty Leek, Shannon Leek, Stephanie Mullins and her nephew Brian Leek.

Brenda leaves a legacy of five grandchildren—Brandie Porch (Matt), Olivia Crabb, Jordan Plaxico Hedges (William), Taryn Morris (Josh), and Will Mainord. She was a great-grandmother to Walker Porch, Sadie Porch, Hayden Porch, Jep Rowe, David Hedges, Bryce Morris, and Sawyer Kate Morris. Each held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Elsie Burse Leek, and her brother, Wayne Leek.

Brenda’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her life was defined by her strength and steadfastness. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
