Billy Joe Medford

Billy Joe Medford, age 80, passed away in his home in Brownsville, TN on Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prentice Medford and Mary Baynes Roberson, and one sister, Mary E. Hurst. Billy Joe was born on January 1, 1941 in Brownsville, TN. He worked at Haywood Farmer’s Co-Op for 41 years. He loved his work and the friendships he made there and throughout the Co-Op system. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He loved boating, talking to people, and enjoying his retirement. Private Graveside Services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Lonnie Robinson officiating. He is survived by his wife, Ann Davis Medford of Brownsville, TN; son, Mark Medford (Suzanne) of Memphis, TN, and nephew, Blake Hurst of Australia. Pallbearers for the service will be Donnie Hatcher, Brent Hatcher, Larry Baggett, Jerry Baynes, Terry Chambers and Chester Cocke. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Cemetery, c/o Mary Jane Baggett, 74 Tibbs-Forked Deer Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012, or to a charity of donor’s choice. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
