Billie June Brooks Kirkpatrick, passed away on June 16, in Northport, AL at age 92 after a prolonged illness. She was born in Bells, TN in 1933 to Willie (Bill) Albert Brooks and Mavis Pauline Sykes Brooks. She married Joseph Ira Kirkpatrick of Brownsville, TN and lived the life of a military spouse while raising their three children. She was a licensed hair stylist and retired from AAFES in Columbus, GA. She and her husband moved back to Bells, TN in 2000 to be with her mother and both of their extended families. “Mama June”, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, was an accomplished seamstress and needleworker. She enjoyed gardening with her husband and put up many fruits and vegetables each year. She loved her family with all of her heart and especially enjoyed the times when the family could come home to visit.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her daughter, Becky Bonita RisCassi and two grandsons, Daniel Jason and John David Kirkpatrick.
She leaves behind her two sons, Daniel Joe (Molly) Kirkpatrick of Rock Hill, SC and Keith Rodney (Robin) Kirkpatrick of Northport AL, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one on the way, three step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren, her beloved sister-in law, Mary Kirkpatrick, as well as numerous cousins and other extended family.
She will be laid to rest at Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Bells, TN.
