Betty Ann Cooper, born on April 20, 1939, in Coffeeville, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on April 8, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee. Her life was a testament to the spirit of nurturing and care, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Betty Ann’s journey was one defined by compassion and dedication. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, she devoted many years to the wellbeing of others, embodying the true essence of caregiving both in her professional life and within her family. She was more than her profession, though—she was a devoted mother, a faithful wife, and a steadfast friend whose love and kindness radiated warmly to those around her.
Born into the Harris family, Betty Ann was the daughter of the late Kenneth Harris and Annie Bell Taylor Harris. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Theresa Williams and Cheryll Johnson (Charles), and her son, Tim Williams. Her family was also blessed with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. She was a beloved sister to Ken Harris (Linda) and Sadie Hodge (Thurman). Though her husband, James Cooper, preceded her in death, her memory and love remain a lasting embrace for those she loved. Even her faithful cat, Bruno, was a special companion in her later years.
Betty Ann’s heart found profound joy in her involvement with the North Jackson Church of Christ, where she was a valued member who embraced the spirit of mission work with passion and commitment. She was a woman whose faith and devotion extended beyond herself, reaching out to better the lives of others around the world.
Beyond the responsibilities and roles she fulfilled so gracefully, Betty Ann was an avid doll collector, finding delight in the artistry and nostalgia that each piece represented. Her creative spirit also flourished in the quiet moments when she turned to writing poetry, crafting words that reflected the kindness and introspection that defined her soul.
Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, service, and artistic expression. Betty Ann Cooper’s legacy is one of heartfelt caregiving, unwavering faith, and gentle creativity. She will forever be remembered as a nurturer who gave of herself tirelessly and as a beloved woman whose presence brought comfort and joy.
As we reflect on her life, it is with a touching mix of sorrow and gratitude. Sorrow for the loss of a remarkable woman, and gratitude for the light she brought into the lives of her family, friends, and the many she served. Betty Ann’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those she cherished so deeply, a lasting gift of love, kindness, and grace.
