Barbara Walker Cain

Barbara Walker Cain, 92, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. She was born on October 3, 1933, in Paducah, Kentucky to John Richard Walker and Elizabeth Walker. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Grover Westover officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

Barbara married the love of her life, Jack Marcom Cain, on March 27, 1954. Together they built a beautiful family and shared a life filled with love, faith, family, and countless memories. Jack preceded her in death.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend. She earned a Master’s degree in Education and dedicated more than 30 years of her life to teaching. Barbara’s students held a special place in her heart, and she was proud of the opportunity to influence and encourage generations of young people.

Her faith in God was central to her life, and above all, she loved God and her family. She cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Barbara’s family was her greatest joy.

Barbara was also a passionate sports fan. She enthusiastically supported Jack’s football teams and proudly cheered for her children and grandchildren in their many athletic endeavors. She loved being in the stands, sharing in their accomplishments, and being their biggest supporter.

She had a love for travel and enjoyed discovering new places and making memories with those she loved. She was also an avid reader and found great pleasure in a good book.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Marc Cain (Cheryl), Bill Cain (Annette), and Chris Cain (Heather); seven grandchildren, Bennett Cain (LeeAnn), Christian Cain (Laura), Jonathan Cain (Cameron), Jackson Cain, Anne-Elise Ross (Clark), Austin Cain (Miranda), and Jesse Cain; and three great-grandchildren, Hallie Cain, Brooks Cain, and Mary Collier Cain.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Marcom Cain, and her siblings, Richard Walker and Rosemary Rudolph.

Pallbearers for the service are Christian Cain, Austin Cain, Jackson Cain, Jesse Cain, Bennett Cain, Jonathan Cain and Clark Ross.

Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering faith, love for her family, dedication to her students, enthusiasm for sports, and the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life. Her love, wisdom, encouragement, and presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through the family she cherished and the many students she taught.
