Alice John Clemens

Alice John Clemens, age 88, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Haywood Community Hospital in Brownsville, TN.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Rev. David Horne and Rev. John Banks officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Dancyville Methodist Cemetery following the service.  Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. 

Alice was born on September 20, 1935, in Greenville, MS.  She poured her heart into loving and taking care of her family and as a homemaker, this was some of the greatest joys in her life.  She loved watching birds, especially hummingbirds.  She enjoyed watching game shows on television. She loved her time at Sugar Creek and was so thankful for her caregivers there. 

She was preceded in death by her adopted parents, John Lawrence Wilkinson and Alba McNeil Wilkinson; her biological parents, Edward R. and Myrtle Axton Morin; her husband, Kenneth George Clemens, Jr.; one brother, Edward L. Morin, and one sister, Lorena Morin York.  

She is survived by her son, John Banks (Shelia) of Brownsville, TN; her daughters, Tina Zammiello (Frank) of Old Forge, NY, Trudy Brewer (Charles) of Memphis, TN, Toni Eubanks (Wally) of Brownsville, TN; her step-son, Michael Clemens (Mary) of Palmetto, FL; two step-daughters, Katherine Ray (Billy) of Ashville, NC and Sarah Scozzafava (David) of Ft. Meyers, FL; two brothers, John O. Morin (Paulette) and Jerry Morin (Sylvia); one sister, Carol Morin Junot (Donnie).  She leaves a legacy of love for her 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  

The family has requested memorials be made to the Dancyville Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Diane Crawford, 13812 Hwy 76 S, Somerville, TN 38068. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
