Alberta Watson, born on January 13, 1947, in Ripley, Tennessee, peacefully departed this life at her home in Brownsville, Tennessee, on January 19, 2026. She was surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, who cherished her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Alberta was a remarkable woman who dedicated her career to Haywood Element, where she left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her passionate heart extended far beyond the workplace and into her home, where she delighted in the simple pleasures of life. She found contentment in nurturing her garden, planting vibrant flowers that reflected her love for nature, and was particularly enchanted by the delicate grace of hummingbirds, which often visited her yard.
Family was at the core of Alberta’s existence. She was the proud wife of Mr. Jimmy Lee Watson for over 31 years, sharing countless beautiful moments and memories together. Her connection with her daughter, Dawn Marie Fisher, and son-in-law, Ronny Barr, exemplified the strength of her love. She was also a devoted grandmother to Heather Williams and Katelyn Coble, as well as a loving great-grandmother to Macy Lynn Sterling, Carley Brooke Sterling, Weston Allen Williams, and Owen Coble. Her family brought her immense joy, and Alberta’s unwavering support and affection shaped their lives in profound ways.
Alberta also had a close bond with her sister, Mae Haynes, and her two nieces, Dottie Bishop and Rosa Matthis, who will fondly remember her loving spirit. A devoted member of the Shaws Chapel Baptist Church, Alberta's faith was an integral part of her identity, guiding her through life’s challenges and celebrating its blessings.
Though her heart now rests alongside those she has lost—her beloved father, Warren Allen Jones; mother, Christine Howard Jones; the father of her children, Richard James Fisher; son, Richard Lee Allen Fisher; and her brother, Leon Jones, and sister, Hope West—Alberta leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
Alberta's memory will forever be intertwined with the beauty of her garden and the joyful arrival of hummingbirds flitting about, reminding us of her spirit. Following her wishes, a graveside service will be held at Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN, on January 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved fur baby, Prissy, reuniting after 15 cherished years.
As we gather to celebrate Alberta’s life, we remember a woman who loved deeply and lived fully. She will be missed profoundly but never forgotten.
